Maddie Love

President & Founder

Maddie is a graduate of Texas Christian University. She owns and manages Ruff Resort & Spa, a daycare and boarding facility in Fort Worth. Maddie is a proud dog mom to her seven fur babies: Miley, Diamond, Diva, Vanilla Bean, Koda, Titan, and Rainey. She even has four pigs: Zack, Cody, London, and Mr. Moseby! She is an animal lover through and through. Maddie volunteered full-time with other animal rescue agencies over the last 4 years before breaking off and starting her own organization. Her passion for rescue has been a driving force in her life and always will be.

Maddie facilitates the intake of all the dogs that come through Love & Paws.. She ensures that all of them get the very best care medically and socially. Maddie's favorite thing about rescue is taking in the nervous, timid dogs and helping them see that not all humans are bad.

Magellan Taylor-Brickey

Vice-President

Magellan is a graduate of both The University of Memphis and The University of Missouri. She is married to Chase and they are the proud parents of four fur babies: Sophie, Bumblebee, Elsa, and Windy. Magellan is a Certified Child Life Specialist by day and rescue superwoman by night. After the rehabilitation and adoption of their first dog, she and Chase were determined to make positive changes in the lives of homeless dogs in North Texas.

Magellan is Maddie's right hand, and brings many fundraising and event planning skills to Love & Paws Rescue. Magellan has over 10 years of experience with event planning, fundraising, leadership, and service/non-profit work from her involvement with The Junior League of Fort Worth and her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi. Magellan is also a 2020 graduate of the Leadership Fort Worth's Leading Edge program. She and Chase also foster and rehabilitate the parvo cases we taken on!

Lane Cox

Rehoming Coordinator

Lane is a graduate of The University of Texas at Tyler. He volunteered part-time with Maddie at another animal rescue for about a year with Maddie before the formation of Love & Paws. Lane facilitates all aspects of the rehoming requests we receive. He works to network dogs currently in a home but needing assistance for a variety of reasons, in the hopes of helping them find their forever home. Lane’s favorite thing about rescue is taking in dogs who haven’t known the care and compassion they deserve, and seeing them get to be a happy and healthy dog- sometimes for the first time in their life.

Lane and his wife, Brittney, are the parents to three Love & Paws dogs: Shadow, Shiner, and Dixie. They also serve as fosters! Lane has always been a huge dog lover, and has a soft spot for the heartworm positive dogs.

Samantha Amick

Enrichment Coordinator

Samantha is a superstar! She is currently pursuing her degree at Tarrant County College and works for the Benbrook Water Authority. She is married to JP and they have two sons, James and Kaden, along with two fur babies, Aries and Khaleesi. When she isn't working, she loves to spend her time helping animals or being active! She has completed 33 marathons and two 5K trail runs so far. Samantha has a heart for Shepherds and one day hopes to have a house full!

Samantha and her family help the dogs at Love & Paws in a number of ways. They love to take dogs out in public to help socialize them and help us learn more about their temperaments. She always helps at our events and even fosters from time to time!
